It’s been awhile since I last wrote something for the blog. There are actually a lot of different reasons for that, but the biggest is that it was simply something that was too time-consuming for me to do…especially when it came to finding reasons to actually write. Other than the monthly sponsored posts from Netflix, I didn’t really feel comfortable coming up with things to talk about that fit the “family theme” that the blog had from Day One.

I started this blog over eight years ago. When I started I was completely anonymous, separated from my spouse and spending a ton of time alone, and trying to find a way through a clinical depression that I didn’t even realize I had. To help myself process things I wrote about pretty much anything that popped into my head, especially when it came to my family, my kids, and my love life.

Now, as a 45-year-old, I am re-married and part of an incredible blended family. I’m also living in a city where people recognize me from Twitter, thus it’s very possible that they read this blog, as well. And because I’ve been in a much better headspace in terms of my life, I just haven’t felt the need to write about anything that personal for quite awhile…nor have I felt the need to share those internal monologues like I used to.

So going forward, this blog is going to be for me.  I’m going to try to reflect my thoughts on more local matters (local being Halifax, Nova Scotia) post photos from trips past and present, write about topics that are fun for me (television, movies, music, etc.), and try to get back to posting vlogs with Kelly and I.

As you can tell, all of my past posts are currently set to “private”. As time goes on, I’ll make some of my older posts public again…but for now I’m just wanting to start things over again with a clean slate. If you end up reading the blog going forward, that’s awesome. If you don’t, thanks for dropping by and at least giving it a shot.

Where people don’t really “blog” that much anymore, let’s just sit back and see where this new venture takes us!
